Driveway
The easiest pickup. The truck backs up to the end of the driveway and winches the car on.
Tell us: if another car is parked behind it, and whether the driveway is steep.
Back lane
Most Vancouver lanes work fine. Garbage bins, hydro poles, and fences right next to the car decide which side we load from.
Tell us: what's on either side of the car, and the nearest cross street.
On the street
We load from the road. Busy streets often have rush-hour stopping limits, so we'll book a time outside them.
Tell us: the street name, which side it's on, and any posted parking signs.
Underground parkade
This is the tricky one. Many parkades are too low for a tow truck, so the car may need to be rolled or jumped out to street level first.
Tell us: the clearance height posted at the entrance, and whether the car rolls and steers. We'll say if it's doable before booking.
Carport or garage
No problem if the car rolls. If it doesn't, we need room in front of it to pull it out.
Tell us: if it rolls, and roughly how much space there is in front.
Blocked in
A blocked car is the main reason a pickup gets pushed back. Move the other vehicles first, or tell us when it'll be clear.
